Appointments

Configure Appointment Details

Please note that the majority of our appointments are book on the day only. Patients will be booked for either an initial triage telephone appointment with the GP or Nurse Practitioner, both of whom will be able to assist you with many conditions over the telephone. However if it is something the clinician cannot address over the telephone they will ask you to come in for a face to face appointment normally on the same day.

There are also a limited number of book on the day face to face appointments available.

In addition to our general appointments we now offer a service called eConsult. This allows you to complete an online self –referral form, which is reviewed by a clinician and is dealt with appropriately. Please click on the blue box on the right to complete a form.

Appointments

Appointments are bookable on the phone at 08:00 each morning, we have pre-bookable appointments with the Nursing Team only at present and on the day appointments for all other clinicians.

Patients have the right to choose which Clinician that they would like to see when they make an appointment although this may not always be possible for all appointments depending on which clinician we have on duty.

Practice Nurses

We have Practice nurses who run clinics most days throughout the week. These clinics are for asthma, diabetes and blood pressure checks etc and also for holiday immunisations and cytology.

The HCA

We have one healthcare assistant who runs clinics for BP checks, NHS Health Checks and health checks for newly registered patients.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before the end of morning surgery whenever possible.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP may refer you to local paramedic visiting services if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient.

You will be sent appointment reminders via text which will give you the option to cancel your appointment if needed.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

If you have a mobile number on your records then you will automatically be sent these but you can opt out at any time. Please speak to reception about this if you would like to know more.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
